Integrated Healthcare Management
for a Diagnostic Center
A growing diagnostic center was managing patients, tests, billing, and pharmacy across paper registers and disconnected spreadsheets. ABS designed and delivered a fully integrated healthcare management system.
The Challenge
The diagnostic center had grown from a single-doctor clinic into a multi-specialty facility with pathology, imaging, and pharmacy departments. But its operations remained stuck in the manual systems of a much smaller organization.
- Patient registration was managed on paper — with duplicate records and missing information a regular occurrence
- Lab results were recorded in individual registers, making traceability difficult
- Billing was handled manually across departments — with no integrated view of what a patient owed
- Pharmacy stock was tracked in spreadsheets with no connection to dispensing records
- Management had no real-time visibility into daily operations, revenue, or utilization
The ABS Approach
ABS began with a structured discovery phase — interviewing department heads, observing workflows, and documenting the existing process flows for patient registration, lab operations, billing, and pharmacy.
Based on this discovery, ABS designed a unified data architecture with a central patient registry at its core — with all downstream modules (lab, pharmacy, billing) linked to the same patient record.
The system was built on ASP.NET with SQL Server — the same architecture as ABSHealthcareLite — and deployed as a web application accessible from any device within the facility.
Key Modules Implemented
Business Outcomes
- Replaced paper-based patient registration with structured digital profiles, eliminating duplicate records
- Centralized billing across all touchpoints — no more missed charges or manual reconciliation
- Lab result traceability from order to delivery — full audit trail per patient
- Management dashboard enabled daily revenue and operational visibility for the first time
- Pharmacy stock management reduced out-of-stock incidents and improved dispensing accuracy
Future Roadmap
The platform architecture is designed for expansion to additional modules including patient portal, online appointment booking, multi-branch operations, and integration with diagnostic equipment. ABSHealthcareLite represents the evolution of this capability into a fully packaged product.
